I saw round two, a cb lost in the right lane, never heard his name , Frankey lost on his Kawi on a tiny red light. I think .002. I think it's odd in street ET they can dial in the 8's with a huge swingarm.

Both Wlilbur and Frankie lost in round two.  Wilbur had a big stumble off the line and Frankie a minor stumble then ran it to a 10.8.

I didn’t see Billy in Cobra Girl.

George

Don, that was Wilbur up first in the right lane.  And that was Frankie’s red cb750f also in the right lane that lost.

Yes, it’s strange to see such speed differences.  Over the 15-20 or whatever street ET matchups in round 2, the slower ET bike won far more than the faster ET bikes on average.

We used to be the slow racer with our dragsters. We won a lot being difficult to judge at the stripe and consistent, so I get that.  I did see Wilbur but missed spotting Frankie on the F, thought it was a kawi. The announcer did mention Wilbur's cb750, he said these guys are trying to get me excited.  Thanks for the update.

10.8 for Bill's bike with the billet block. Think it was 119mph or so

The biggest takeaway for me is that I still need more practice! My bike was not happy with the cold temperatures. I won round one on Saturday and we did not run round two until 9:30 P.M. Bracket classes ran until 1:45 A.M Saturday night/Sunday morning at which point they called the whole thing off and gave the remaining racers $50 apiece. Stalled the bike off the line three times in four runs between Saturday and Sunday. Phhbbbtttt….

Good to see everybody, Mike, Keith, Bill, Larry, Frank, Mark, Dennis (Old Scrambler). Lots of bench racing in the pits!

Larry Hayes made 3 passes this time with no breakages. That's the best I've seen so far. The last run he stumbled off the line but finished at 8.9 or so and 150mph. Once it hooked up it was like a rocket.

Trey had a couple runs on Bill's Purple Rain 915. He was hitting lower 11's and up to 119mph.

Good to see everyone and hangout. The weather was chilly early and late but plenty of sunshine.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

It was fun. That CBR1000 is amazing. Fletcher did great, I got a video of him coming back down the return road! Big smile, lol. Frank, thanks for riding my bike.  You did well. I think that bike will break the existing record.....definitely still being sorted,  but man it revs quick.....Great to see everyone and missed all ya'll who couldn't make it, especially miss you  Sam Green.  Hope Jim makes it by your place. Now gotta fix Bill, lol.

I'm glad you wrote that last sentence. Personnel health first my friend.

As to the bike, I'm positive as well  about it being a record breaker. With more seat time to learn what the bike wants, I know I could have dropped the 60' times more. 2 passes won't give the best performance.  I completely forgot about the lightweight crank and the  quick revs generated because of it.    Could be time to reevaluate your gearing. Thanks for the opportunity to throw a leg over the bike.

So how did the bikes do in the end numbers wise?  I was only able to catch a pair of runs.  Wilbur’s bike and Frankie’s bike on Saturday. 2nd round I think.

I heard Bill’s 915 with stock carbs Purple Rain ran low 11s and 119mph with between 1.6-1.8 60ft I think.  That’s great speed for stock carbs.  Another good example of how much power one can pull from those small carbs.

I think I saw a 10.8 from Frankie’s red bike after an uncharacteristic bog off the line.  Was your brother driving your bike this weekend Frankie?

I don’t recall any numbers from Bill’s Cobra Girl.

Anyone have pics to share?

George

Thanks Mike. I just wanted to safely get the bike down the track.

By the way, I'm not a fan of lightweight plain bearing cranks for drag racing.

Well, thx again.  Going to one day get it all sorted. Then I will pop off lightwt rotor and see what effect it has. Bike needs more gear for sure, that I like. Wish Kenny had made it down. We gotta do something for the 50th Anniversary this coming year! 2019 should be the best yet. Hope Wilbur stayed in Top 10, Larry got his first win, all in all, a great weekend.  Hey Doc,  I need help on my 60ft, cause , well because I do, lol.  ;D

Hey Doc,  I need help on my 60ft, cause , well because I do, lol.  ;D

You'll get there my friend. Put the stock Honda clutch pack back in there please. The one in there was a little too grabby for my liking. I didn't really trust the way it released. Seemed like it could lock up at any minute and at the wrong time.

Well I'm going try stock plates and Barmett springs. We'll find out. Just installed this, lol, Samauto tach rides again! Gotta watch out for the molehills! Old tach was DOA yesterday. Started dying in Valdosta.  Bike should be so much better soon.Going to check on Dyna booster, anyone have any experience or instructions? Thx.

I had concerns about the way that tach was acting. Makes sense now that its completely failed. I like the playback features but hate the size. Lol. As to the Dyna booster, had one on my Kawasaki dragbike when I first bought it 20 plus years ago. Took it off and threw it in the trash. Installed an MSD box and never regretted that decision. So what happened to the MSD/MC1 I gave you?? Why not use it instead?
