Still no vaccine in my county, not liking it, but what to do?
I wear double masks all day at work (residential construction) and sometimes I've noticed that the mask has slipped up high and has been rubbing against my eyeballs ....I hadn't noticed it until my eyes got infected from either the fabric rubbing against them or the detergent I wash the masks with. Seems that eye infections are really serious and have to be dealt with antibiotics immediately or terrible things can happen. So if eyes are infected , runny , crusty , or under the eye is swollen get it checked right away.
It would be such a relief not to have to be wearing masks all the time and feel "safe" for a change. I'm hoping for the J and J single shot myself incase the 2 shot vaccine runs out or something.

I saw Illinois is above average in vaccinations and my county is also leading the stat's. The county health dept. is earning it's keep.

I recd. my first shot(Moderna)today 2.5 hrs ago:I feel like my body is fighting it which is good ! I'm scheduled to get my 2nd shot in 28 days:this was done at my local Rite-Aid.

I woke-up feeling just as good as ever this morning !

Days 32 and 33.....

Errrr nights 32 and 33. Right after I get shot #2 I experienced VERY weird dreams. Different type of dreams. Too weird! I woke myself to stop. I may have been tripping LOL. All good now.

Moderna dose#2 yesterday. Sore arm yesterday and today. Missus said I was singing in my sleep last night!

Vaccine supplies improving here and our own senior center is offering vaccinations 500 per day using city EMT techs, city website for signups. Residents only. Many other communities in Wayne county doing the same. Meijers pharmacy has called me twice to come there for vaccine, but my own Primary care doc and his associated hospital won’t let me in because it’s in the next county. My own vaccine came through the local hospital. So there are several pathways to get a vaccination: hospital, pharmacy, city/county health dept.

From my Father:

75, Covid survivor (Last April, two weeks in ICU). Received his first shot on Friday morning, Feb, 26. No pain at injection site, but Saturday he said he felt like crap, and had a fever of 101. Was a little tired on Sunday, but otherwise fine after that. I'm pretty sure it was the Moderna shot, but not 100% sure.

My wife got her 1st shot yesterday, no ill effects, no sore arm, no fever...nothing. Nothing except relief that is.
Can hardly wait to get my shot, not 65 yet, gonna have to wait a little longer .

I am 48hrs. in on my first shot:Moderna.I went to get my monthly 2 allergy injections as usual.I feel a little worn,aside from that I feel good.

My daughter and her Fiance' got vaccine at the local grocery store pharmacy, They heard if you show up near closing time and a batch is open they will give it to whoever is there. Older friends in the next county are having a hard time finding a dose. It helps to be computer literate.

Edit, the kid's didn't get an appt for dose #2 was told since they got left over doses they still aren't on the list.

Wife and I got our first Moderna shot last week. We both experienced some fatigue from hour 6 thru hour 18 following the shot (naps!) and some arm soreness the following day. Looking forward to completing the vaccine regimen and am happy to do my part to help get things back on track. Won't be long now!

The wife and I got our second shots late last month. Minor effects for a few hours but, nothing terrible. She got the Moderna vaccine, I got the Pfizer vaccine.

I got dose 1 of the Pfizer vaccine a few weeks ago and get dose 2 this Thursday.

Other than a little soreness in my shoulder for about a day I had no side effects.

My girlfriend had some slight swelling in her face, which she attributes to a minor allergic reaction.

Wife and myself had the Oxford jab today. Absolutely painlessly administered by a rather attractive female firefighter. We had to travel to the famous St Helens Rugby League Club Stadium. No ill effects and looking forward to a few sherbets later. Happy days.

Would there be any benefit of getting extra vaccine shots later-on:a kind of tune-up for good measure ?
I mean after getting my 2-shot Moderna,then 3-6months from now possibly get the J&J shot,extra booster?

Wife and I both got the Johnson & Johnson Single Dose vaccines this past Thursday afternoon, 3/11/21 from long time family Doctor. Prior to injection, they checked blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate. Immediately after injections, they hit the button on a 20 minute timer and we had to sit there to make sure neither of us got an anaphylaxis (allergic shock) reaction. Very slight injection site soreness for both. Twinge of a headache Friday morning and 15 minutes of nausea mid-morning for me. Twinge of a headache Friday afternoon for the wife. Slept like a baby last three nights. So far, that's it!

Nothing like the double dose flu shot (for over 65 year olds) I got year before last on the Thursday before the Man Cup 2019 races in Valdosta. My ass was "dragging" all weekend.

I got my 1st shot today, so far uneventful, no problem at injection site. My wife got hers early last week and had zero issues until yesterday when she noticed that the injection site was hot to the touch with a small rash. She checked around and found this to be common up to 30 days after the injection.

I got dose 2 on Thursday. Same as the original, a sore shoulder for a day, then no issues. My girlfriend, who had a minor allergic reaction to shot #1 had no issues with #2 (Pfizer for both of us).

So far NO really bad adverse reactions reported. Pretty much what I expected. Better than a positive COVID test!!

I'm hoping that more members will read this thread and their fears/objections will be put to rest.

If you don't want to protect yourself at least consider that you would be doing your part to help stop this #$%*.

Age 72.

Got my first dose of Pfizer last Tuesday. Felt nothing at the injection site but noticed a little fatigue later that day (on the other hand I often notice a little fatigue). Did my usual 3+ mile run on Wednesday and felt fine.

I got dose #2 of moderna today, seven hours later my arm is sore and swollen but the oddest thing is after 60 years of not thinking I got one, today I can see the scar from my polio shot.
My Mom always was worried my polio vaccine didn't take because I didn't get a scar. Later we got the sugar cube polio vaccine also, she stopped worrying then.
Somwhere there is a photo of me with my diaper sagging and chicken pox all over my backside, I seemed to catch every virus that came along, mumps, measles of different varieties, since then I've been fortunate.

Looks like I might be the guinea pig here for the one shot J&J vaccination. Haven't noticed any others on here. Guess it was the flavor of the day here in Kalamazoo on 3/19 when I went in through the Health Department site. Nothing negative to report so far but will update if I have different fluids running out of all my orifices.

First choice would have been Phizer as its made here in my hometown or the Moderna. Done deal though !
