Does on the racetrack qualify for on the road?

At the AHRMA Grattan road race with my 75 CB750F - actually managed to get thrid place in today's race.  Well 3rd place out of four racers in my class :) ... but hey, this is only my 3rd race, so I still feel pretty good about it.

seanbarney41 drove up 1.5 hours to check it out and stopped by to say hi.

I had a great day.  It was very cool to meet Chris and Jeff.  My 550 ran like a top.  Wish I had some more pics but my camera is broke

Here are a couple of pix from a ride I took yesterday. The first is of the coast at Shell Beach and the second is a reservoir near the little town of Cayucos. You can see how low the water level is due to our drought.

Went from Toronto to London and back. About 400km. Ran like a champ. Never missed a beat. Was really proud of that. :)

I really like your white and black paint scheme with the brown seat, it looks great.  I live in Toronto and my parents are in London so I know that drive all too well (especially since I'm working on my bike in their garage so I have to go there as often as possible so I can hurry up and get it on the road.)

I rode in the opposit direction. Toronto to Gananoque on Saturday, and back on Sunday. Sorry, no pic.

Epic trip...

.....but you just missed it by 50km

You passed Stuttgart on the Autobahn (certainly at 207,5 km/h).

Next time you are here do less km and give me a call.

To Ryan Thanks man. Take your time when building these bikes. That was my first time in London and it was on a Saturday night. Downtown was basically flooded with hot western u students. :)

Mcn. Thank you. The bike turned out better than I thought it would.

Schnell lucky for you. There are many OnRoute going East out of Toronto. It's a nice ride out east.

For the guys that go for longer rides at what rpm do you hold it at on the 5th gear? I hold it at 6k rpm doing about 130 to 135kph.

Also I'm a young man myself (23) it seems I need a break like every 80 to 100km because my inner thigh and right hand just starts to ache. How long do you guys go for before wanting to pull over?

I usually need a break about every 100-120 miles (160-190km), usually coincides with my gas fill-ups (a little early but I'm always paranoid of running out of gas) .

On my 750 I usually hold around 5K in 5th and cruise around ~130KPH (digital speedo, matched to GPS).

I stop when I'm tired. My legs don't get tired, but my right hand used to. Do you have big hard plastic coke bottle grips? Try smaller ones so you can wrap more of your hand around it. I just switched from big ones to Ourys and they are more comfortable.

This pic was taken in the mid 70's, my buddy on his Guzzi. I think it was the first ride, bought used '74 CB750.
Looks like the back roads north of Los Angeles.

I couldn't keep well enough alone, became this.

thanks, Mark
