Looks like a Photoshop job to me...Nice 500!

Nope, just depth-of-field control (or accidently).  Photographers use it to bring attention to the intended foreground subject, while downplaying the background.  Otherwise details of the foreground can be lost in the background clutter.  Nice Bike,  Nice Picture except for the red roadside marker sticking out of the seat.

Blur tool was used heavily in this photoshop job. Check between the rear spokes and above the fender, it's pretty obvious. Nice bike though!

Not 'shopped' IMO... why would ya bother , actually.... looking thru' rear spokes = real photo proven AFAICS.

Just had the Mrs. look at it too.... she says shopped, after pointing out blur above seat and 'triangle' below mirror... I guess I agree  :(.... ( and yer Mrs. is always right ! ::) ).

Whoops!....but really nice bike..

The gravel road is in sharp focus well beyond the bike, but the foilage immediately beside it is completely blurred... maybe his camera has a 'blur anything green function'  ;D

Wasn't trying to start a whole 'thing' here...I was just saying the effect was achieved in Photoshop, not with a special camera/lens.  The term 'Photoshopped' often carries a negative connotation.

Took a ride to Santa Barbara today to pick up a clutch cable. I stopped at this old gas station on the way. It is just on the north side of Goleta. There was a sign that said it was the first Barnsdall-Rio Grande service station built in the early 1920's. The sign also said that it was used in the movie "The Postman Always Rings Twice" made in 1980.

Just took a short ride around town today but I thought I would post these pictures of the monument in front of the Lompoc Veterans Memorial building. The propeller in the pix is off one of the seven destroyers that ran aground just 10 miles west of Lompoc at a place known as Honda Point (also called Point Pedernales). This happened in 1923 and is the worst peacetime U.S. naval disaster in history. Cruising down the California coast using dead reckoning they turned left for the Santa Barbara channel too soon and ran up onto the rocks at 30mph. Honda Point is on Vandenberg AFB property and since 9/11 it's hard to get access to the site. I saw it probably 25 years ago and at that time there was still debris to be seen off shore among the rocks.

Hey, is the bike still on? Front headlight is on...
That area looks really cool. Does it get dusty  in that area while riding and how are you liking the 550?
