Wow, poor folks in Las Vegas. Too bad, so many jobs at stake everywhere.
Also, very nice bike, can you post some stuff up about it and how it came to be so nice? How about a thread?
We'd all love the distraction.

Thank you! The thread is in the bottom of my signature "K2 start from scratch." Yeah, we are going to take a hard hit from the strip being shut down. Probably makes up 50% of our economy.

Nice pic Dave! So are all the casinos closed? They have all been closed here as of today, along with all "non-essential" services, including gyms, theatres, pubs, clubs, and restaurants can only serve "take away" or "home deliveries". The big shopping centres are open though, I'm "working from home" but the system isn't working, so I might wander off to get my Henry Abe wheels blasted  and see if I can buy some sugar somewhere, to make a batch of ginger brew. I've got a freezer full of meat, a fridge full of booze, and the wife's "Clive Cussler" book collection for toilet paper, so I'm making out like a bandit! ;D

All the properties are closed yeah. Sounds like we are doing the same with all the other services you mentioned too. I have been prepared for a while now. Not for this necessarily, but something like a major power outage or natural disaster. I built a gym in my shop, have plenty of food/water. Have solar panels, a generator, propane etc. I still am able to go to work like normal at least.

Wow! What a ride, a real adventure!
-You solved the charging/ battery issue?

My K6 charging LED started to flash overcharging last year. Adjusted regulator screw, still flashing.
I had planned to take the first ride of the year last week on that bike, battery too weak for starter despite charging. Installed new battery a few days later

The ride today, voltage too low now ~13.5V max. I have a LED voltage meter too.
When back home adjusted the regulator back to how it has been since 2014 when I serviced  it. Hopefully hitting 14.4V max next ride. GEL battery.

The sudden overvoltage must have been the battery that started to throw in the towel.

All adjustment/measurement on regulator must have a good and fully charged battery. Before only text in an instruction for me to follow, last year practical experiences.

2020 Premiere! Nice weather after work +10C and sunshine. 60 km ride. Stopped at a popular cafeteria in a horse center in a small village called Strömsholm.

Hey PeWe...looked it up, the Palace looks very majestic!

https://www.spottinghistory.com/view/940/stromsholm-palace/

Next time, Swedish girls please!
That is very close to where I took the photo, about 1 km. Nice place with a creek/river flowing beside it.

I'll take a photo there next time.
Plus be prepared for nicely shaped female horse riding trousers. Hopefully riding boots too. Plan B, a horse....

My K6 next time.
EDIT:
I noticed that the ride was 87km.
Stev-o,
Next time happened today!
I was too late to catch the horse when it was close with a female on it behind me.  Too busy to look at my bike :D

A bad photo against the sun. Horse visible. I'll add much better later this year. Total 78km ride.

PeWe - to your overcharging issue - I had the same on my K7 - root cause was drop of voltage on black wire connected to regulator. In my case, drop was bigger than 2.5V (for example battery was 14, on regulator only 11.5). Logically regulator seeing such low volatge was increasing voltage on alternator field coil to charge max. At the end I had more than 15V o battery...
I investigated all possible connection and my conclusion is that there is "cold" junction somewhere inside main wiring loom between headlight shell and point it exists at regulator. If you look inside wiring diagram, you can see several junctions inside on the black "line". I already have similar experience from 550 K1, where I found 2 totally "corroded" junctions inside loom on the black line (http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,176018.msg2048272.html#msg2048272). This can behave differently under load/temperature... My K7 was working fine for first minutes of ride and the started to overcharge.
So what I did was to run a dedicated new "black" line (via relay) that is connected to regulator and also dedicated line to feed headlight to offload black line.
Now it works fine (but tested only for few km)
Replacement of whole loom would be ideal, but I prefer to keep stock original on the bike than any aftermarket alternative

There is no overcharging now.
That connectivity issue with too low voltage to regulator is good to know, though.

Main harness is old but all plugs recrimped 2014. Charging harness new from Yamiya 3 years ago.

Good job! ; D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

-You solved the charging/ battery issue?

I had replaced the innards of the regulator and rectifier with electronic bits from Horst on the German site. The first problem was that the wiring in his regulator plug didn’t match the wiring on mine on the bike; only two of the yellow wires were connected. When I found this and fixed it, there were no more charging issues.

Then one of the transistors on the board in the regulator blew itself to bits. I had to sit for 2 weeks waiting on a replacement to come from Germany - the local guys could have replaced it but they didn’t have the right transistor. That was in Sudan and so far all is well. Horst also sent me an unadulterated unit In case the replacement electronic on packed up, so I now have 3 regulators! I’m sure once things settle down I can get the transistor replaced locally.

Not yet. It’s written but I going to get a few pics of The bike - warts and all - to post. Just to illustrate the wear and tear.

I’m also trying to sort customs out so I can get my deposit from the Carnet people back; since it came from here originally, in theory no customs duties should be due.🤞

The plan now is for the bike to stay here until things settle down, and I decide where to go next. Did you know there are 16 places called Belfast across N America and Canada? 🤪 Watch this space.
