Got my K1 candy gold back today. Tank is done except for the black stripes. Will get that next week. In the meantime I can get the front back on and get this bike out of the patio before my wife starts to...well you know.  ;D

Added some chrome trim to my new seat cover, and finally replaced my missing 750 emblem.

Geezus Georg, that thing is so fugly it's kinda cool, I think I like it! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hi Terry,

...THX for the flowers mate  ;)

Took off the totally gummed up carbs and put an other carb set on, filled in fresh oil and 2 kicks later the engine was running  ;D
Filled up new braking fluid and drove the first 200 meters, sounds great with that AME pipes.

Took Brownie down even further so I can repair a long crack in the plastic I found last week when I was jacking with the carbs (full monty in sig).

Got her back together and rode it like I stole it to Sherman and back loaded up with Shell and Seafoam.  Kept the rpm's at 6k and above for a lot of the ride.  Did the ton a few times.  She started to run like shiite for about 20 minutes and then she smoothed out.  Ran like a stripped azzed ape after that.  It took Honda creating the 1800cc flat six Gold Wing to actually give it some competition what 20 some odd years later?  Not shagging Honda so do not take it that way.

Those of you think the CB is hard to work on, try working on this 800lb behemoth!  It's as daunting as a Gold Wing.  Yea, the gas tank is the black thing under and in front of the seat.  It's a v4 1200, the father of the VMAX.  Those carbs have to be the biggest Gosh Damn Motha Focka to work on (that's being polite).

Yes, I am drinking now.  Enjoying the buzz and the earbuds cranked in my ear.

Went for a 130 mile ride today.  The bike did awesome!!!  Towards the end though, I was getting a bit of a "clunking/ticking noise" when taking off from a stop.  Came home to find that my chain had loosened up, and was the source of the noise!  Re-tightened it and lubed it.  Much better!

I've been riding the Suzi to much, so today I tightened the chain on the K8 and did a nice Island loop.
Man I love that bike 8)

Replaced the 120 jets, that sucked down 2 gallons of gas just sitting idle. Put 105s in. Will not idle w/o the choked completely shut.

But, not complaining, at least i know it will run. Bought it for 1 bill, really in bad shape as far as condition. Missing all kinds of crap.

But, hey, wtf, its a '75 750k5 and I'm looking to go with the theme of rat/bobber and as much as original I can stay with.

The main jets only affect 1/2 throttle plus. Not idle.

If you're having trouble below half throttle, its the idle circuits, needle, etc.

rear wheel maint:  rear bearings in.  new vesrah pads, cleaned rear spokes, rim, polished drum, sprocket cover, axle spacers.
fit rear back on bike.  chain on.  weird 'click' noticed when applying rear brake.   need to loosen axle bolt and re-set pads in hub before tightning axle.  looks good tho.  now to polish the front....
i detest cleaning spokes!   :-\

On this beautiful, sunny day, I polished and waxed my CB550's tank. Replaced the frozen rear brake rod with a good salvage part; now I have a fully-functioning rear brake.  Not much riding, though -- I filled the tank at a nearby station and got home to find carb #2 leaking out the air intake and overflow, and #1 leaking from the overflow alone.  Removed the carb rack and reset float height. . . now #3 leaks from both intake and overflow.  Too tired and discouraged to mess with it any more.  Float valves not seating properly?  Still struggling with timing, too.  Man, a single-cylinder bike looks good right now. . . .

Thanks for the info, I guess to do it right, i should have done a rebuild, rather than just replace the jets.

Which is just what I am going to do. Just ordered the kits from ebay.
