Larry, I could meet you in Matamoras Pa where NY, NJ and Pa meet. From there I can take him down to West Point, and given a few days I could get him to the Empire State Building or Ground Zero or both. I can get him to From there I could get him to Connecticut and hand him off to some of our New England Brothers.

That could work but I am at the other end of the state almost in Delaware.  It is a possibility though,   Larry

Haven't even read this whole thread yet Jerry but DAMN!!!!....whata awesome idea!! If I had enough notice ahead of time....I would for sure be up for going over the mountains (Calif.to Nevada).....Modesto to north or south(Redding or LA)or even further.I'm still kinda bummed that we didn't do a group ride when Glenn was out in 06' but there is always time for another trip and this sounds like a good one!!!! Keep this thread alive!!!!

Grnrngr - A definite vital link! My initial "vision" would have "it" reentering the US on the final US leg through Waterton Peace Park at Glacier Park, MT, down through Idaho say to Stanley and the Sawtooth Mtns (FANTASTIC riding all the way!) and into OR and up to WA to hook up with Frank/754 at the border on US97. NOW, this doesn't preclude ANY routing that you or others may wish to do so long as we are able to meet up with the next rider. We can appoint Regional Coordinators to help with these particular areas since these guys will know their areas and be close by for coordination. Timing is a major component here also. We definitely want to not only make this scenic but memorable for both our riders and the viewers. I've done MANY thousands of miles over the entire west and you just can't go wrong no matter where you are!! Glad you're in!

Guys,

We are filling in routes FANTASTICALLY! This is perfect the way you guys are connecting the dots with one another. Let's keep it up this way for a while. I will begin to do a suggested route map as things progress. Remember, this all depends on you. Therefore it is subject to change based on what you can do and what you are familiar with. I think it best though that we keep the basic direction and state to state to province to continent in order. WooHooooooo!!

Oh yeah, I am in communication with Glenn to see how best to handle this on the site. It's looking VERY positive on that front.

Breeze,

You and maybe TT and others should hook up and definitely go through Hollister and stop off at the Corbin seat factory!! I'm going to attempt to have them as one of our sponsors. They are onboard as our unofficial for now aftermarket seat supplier.

Seattle's not too far from me so I get up there lots more than I get down south, went and saw Mom and Sis in September, first time I'd been down that way on my own vehicle for quite a while, but I've been dyin to get to Sin Diego cuz I ain't been to SoCal since my granma died back in 02, and I'd like to check it out while my son's still down there. Like they say, timing is everything, so if we can get a schedule together, I'd much rather plan my vacation than quit my job to do it, but..I'm not really fond of this job anyway.. ;D Before I took my road trip in September, I had been sitting around here, pretty much doin nothin, readin the forum and killin time, but after reading Seawebs Epic Adventure story and Shenanigans totally awesome trip log, I was hit by it...yer only alive once, if you don't do it now, yer just gonna be older next time the desire comes around. If yer still around. I don't feel particularly old at 56, a little beat up maybe, but I've noticed some of my high school/college friends have passed on... So..packed it up and headed out, it was great!! 1700+ miles in 5 days..best time I've had in a long time and sure enough, didn't hurt my family's feelings any to drop in unexpected like. This one sounds a little more organized, but hey..adventure is what keeps the spirit alive!! Hopefully by then I'll have to decide which one of my old Hondas I'll take...my 72 runs pretty good, it'll need a tune up first, but the 750A might be a step up in comfort with the Vetter and bigass seat and all  ..hmmmm ...decisions..   and the impetus I need to get it back together.. LETS GO~!!

If the route turns out to be from the north and the Montana/Washington area, I bet a bunch of SoCalers would ride up to escort the beast down to San Diego. I'm starting to see more and more Calif riders comment Don't forget tee shirts with a route map, lots of SOHCs and "I survived the 2011 SOHC4 relay" or some such.

I'd sure like to see that website. I wish it could be a link off of this site though - to keep it in the family. It might not get the activity separated like that.

I just checked the roster and it's up to twenty in just one day. Don't forget to PM to Jerry.

I'm in for a UK leg, possibly more if other EU interest, perhaps include an IOM TT lap along the way ;D

I sent a PM, but I'm in Western NY, an hour from Ontario, hour and a half from PA or Ohio, Niagara Falls would be a good stop. I have a big house with a couple extra bedrooms, could put a few folks up along the way. I think someone mentioned already they could get it to England, but if needed I might be able to help out there, too, have relatives there I visited last summer, they may be coming here next summer, or I may go back.

UK should definitely be a go also but we have to get it done here first and this will be a rather larger undertaking. I'm up for it though!  ;)  Not likely I'll do anything pertaining to Europe until we get the ball and bikes rolling over here. I can see the time when someone in, say, the UK will need to take the ball via a handoff and get going but let's not get in a hurry for that yet. You guys can learn from our misfortunes  ;) and make it even better.

MyCB750K6,

The more the merrier. Strength in numbers are definitely what we're after but I just don't see it happening from the north due to seasonal weather patterns.

Initially, I foresaw the beginning southern leg running close to the Gulf and through the desert areas to San Diego simply because of potential weather patterns THEN taking a diagonal cut through Las Vegas into Utah, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, etc. Vegas just seems like a must! As all the guys start chiming in the routing will definitely take a more localized approach. It's looking like a coastal route north from San Diego will be a distinct possibility with all the guys in SoCal joining in. It's about people, weather, AND time. Now I can see routing through Tucson, up to Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, through Vegas then to San Diego before heading up the coast. I'm also "seeing" the NorCal guys hooking up in San Fran with the other guys headed north towards San Fran and riding through the mountains to Reno maybe via Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, all BEAUTIFUL MAGNIFICENT places.

One concern I have is finding the people to ride through the vast unpopulated expanses of Nevada and Utah. While US50 aka The Loneliest Road in America is a great ride on a great 2 lane and perhaps a once in a lifetime event for most of us I just don't believe we have the people in those areas so we'll need some long range ride committments from our folks.

Like I say, we have to have people to make this work! Keep signing on guys. I'm adding you to the list. As the list becomes populated I'll have to make it route based rather than just by numbers but that's for another day probably in the NEAR future.

;D I'm in! If don't have a running bike at the time, I can provide a support vehicle 100 miles either side of Chicago.

This idea is awesome! I was thinking we should get this stickied and in the first post we could have a list of the States, Provinces and for Europe the Countries. Below each state (etc) we could have a list of members who are interested with thier city beside thier name.

Example

Washington:

member 12 - Seattle
member C  - Tacoma

Oregon

member 2 - Portland

So you could look at your state, province, country and message who you could be riding with to help locals organise and if there is some comittiee they could organise it on a national level. It would have to be planned with weather in mind. We don't want the gnome getting stranded in Canada during January :)

Just my first thoughts.

EDIT: Aparently I haven't been to page one for a couple of days...

That's not all that far from here.  I usually get through Eureka, NV about once a year anyway.  I'll keep an eye on this.  It all depends on the timing, but I wouldn't mind riding along.

I had my seat made there a few years ago.I am sure they would be happy to go along with anything motorcycle related. They have a real cool little bike museum there also.Don't know if you can see it in this pic but it says Corbin right there on the side of that seat

I like the idea of working Soichiro's name into the relay.  I need a bit of help with pronunciation to make sure I'm getting it right.  so-ICHI-ro ??

If the timing is right I would like to join up for part of this leg. I love riding in the desert and Soichoroilla really needs to hit Bonneville.
