So no Beaufort? Fine with me! Cbowers how about 321 to 601 and through the Congaree forest? We can bail and stay on 321 to Columbia if time is becoming an issue.

That will work, I really don't think it matters where we ride. Just being in the crowd will be fun.

OHH.....PRETTY!!

Gave my 750 a bath over the weekend. She's going out Sunday for her yearly checkup. Have a friend that is an ex Honda master mechanic. He works out of his house, does a bang up job, and is very reasonable. I only trust my CB with him. This will be the longest ride I have done on her so I want to make sure she's in tip-top shape.

oooh, what a purty bike you have there Rocker, lucky Devil.  This going to be the longest ride I've ever done so far also, I hope my back and my butt are up to it! Sounds like you have a great mechanic, I lucked up with one who only works on old Hondas, we probably should trade names and numbers with each other. I can't wait to  hear our gang pull out of my driveway, soon, very soon!

Cbowers! The only place safe to stay would be the Comfort or Quality. Suburban definatley not! Red roof ive not seen lately. I just read the crime reports!  I highly recomend that Hampton or my Yard/Shop/small camper (2 beds only).Watch the weather forecasts. If its nice you might fall asleep around my big rock firepit!

Bluezboy,
Rocker is probably staying out in Okatie. Its 15 minutes to Hilton Head. Sguat and and Gobble is back tracking the trip. We can meet at the Hampton Sunday AM. Breakfast places dont open til 8 and the hotel guys get fed anyway. Ill ride to HHI with you though. We need to find a good lunch spot like in Switzerland or some other cool town. Ill start looking.

Thanks  Bender. I hoping we can all be fed and tanked up on coffee, by 8am so we can get moving, because we Georgia Boys have a long day of riding ahead of us and I'd like us to do it all while it's still daylight. Vern

I'm working on at least trying to get some of my friends who ride, although not riders of "The Original Superbike", still riders nonetheless, to join me for at least part of the ride. If I could at least get some company from Daytona to St. Augustine or Jacksonville that would help. There's still a chance that:

"58. MyGunsBigger - Daytona 200 to Savannah to start us off!!" (our original starter) will get back on board. "drones76" thinks he might be active military and incommunicado at the moment, so if MyGunsBigger gets back into the fray here, we would have two starter members. I may try to contact other Florida members on this forum and see if they are lying low for any particular reason, heck, if one of them needs a part and/or some mechanical expertise to get their SOHC on the road I might even be able to help them make it happen!

With Bike Week winding down that weekend there will be no shortage of riders along my route, so I could just pretend that we are all riding in the same group and I would have a contingent on my end approaching 300,000 to 400,000 riders!

madmtnmotors, I want to thank you for getting out relay started by riding so far, if we didn't already  have a long enough ride from ATL, we'd try to dip into to Florida to meet you, but we'll be racking up the miles that weekend as it is. I'm glad there will be a lot of other riders out there so you won't feel totally alone. We're looking forward to meeting you in Savannah, ride safe! Vern (Bluezboy

I'm begining to think it might just be easire to split a room with Fabricator.  I would mean alot less stuff would have to be packed and it would put most of us in one spot, rather then everyone being in a different place and have to meet back up in the morning.  I'll have to talk with him later and see what he says.

Bender, I'm familiar, for the most part where you are, we've been coming to the island for the past 20 years and a lot has change, I hate the cross island freeway and the traffic there now is just like being here in Atlanta, sheesh. I don't have family there, just some very close friends that live in the Folly Field area. I'll probably have to miss how you got your name because my friends will expect me to roll in at a reasonable hour if I want to have a free bed, so you'll have to tip  in honor of me.

I do want to have enough time to get "how to make your 35 year old Honda shiny" lessons from Rocker. ;)

Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots...did I mention lots...of polishing. The previous owner kept her clean and free of dirt but never polished anything. I have had her almost ten years and it's been a continous process. She does not get riden that much and it in my garage 99% of the time. I crank her every weekend and ride around that block. I need to spend some time on the swing arm, spokes, and rear rim. Swingarm needs to be blasted and repainted. Need to takes some WD40 and 0000 steel wool to the spokes and rear rim. They have a little bit up surface rust.
