So we had a great turn out across all of New England and all of us have probably met a bunch of new riders in our area. I know that many of us are keen to ride again with a SOHC group of riders and so carrying on the Relay tradition I think this thread is as good as any for organizing future rides.

Ill kick it off by proposing a ride for the 13/14th August. Most likely a ride to Stowe VT (as who dosent love VT) as there are some great roads in that area including up to the ski areas.

Anyone interested? Need some rough numbers to book accomodation - motel or camping (or both).

Also thinking about heading down to the Vanilla Bean Cafe this coming Sunday (17th July) if anyone is interested in joining me or meeting me there.

Looking forward to riding with some of you again! Post your own rides and destinations and see who is around to join you.

cheers
Andy

Another fine idea Andy, thanks for taking the initiative. Those weekends are both bad for me but I'm sure you won't be riding alone.
Cheers to everyone who can join in.

Sunday is probably no good for me and I'm not sure where I'll be in August.  I might actually have some work then.  Keep the ideas flowing.  I'm looking to get in to the Adirondacks at some point.

     Hi Andy'
I'm always up for a ride what is the Vanilla Bean Cafe?

According to Ken (BigKO) and some others  - a big biker hangout on Sundays...I have never been so...this Sunday looks good for a ride - its 2 hours at least from Boston - I have some tiny backroads mapped so will see how we get on - are you up for it?

cheers

     Hi Andy,
Friday I'm going to do a frame swap for Tree on his new K8. If I can get it done in time I would love to check out the Cafe.

Guys sorry but change of plan -***EDIT*** - 1.15pm Saturday.

I just got to work and rode the Mass Pike to get here - its only 85F but humid and I was melting...tomorrow is due to be hotter still with temps in the 90s with high humidity so I am going to default and cancel planned ride for tomorrow.

Sorry!

Alternative route had been hatched to avoid the busy roads....heading to VT.

Meeting Anders on Rt at Dunkin Donuts 188 Ayer Rd. Harvard,MA 01451 at 10am and then meeting Bethanie at Rt 2 Millers Falls, MA (at the car park next to the bridge over the river) at 11am. Anyone is welcome to join us. 2 CB750s and a Nighthawk so far...

Sorry for all the confusion and keep cool!

Just a word to the wise:  Bring your bathing suits and be ready for some swimming.  It's what we do in Vermont.  I may join the ride or I may not.  I will not see my sweetie for two weeks starting monday and she might want to hang out with me sunday; I doubt it but maybe she will.

Alan,  We have to go for a ride soon.  Andy, Anders, Tree?  I am going to try to get to Rice-o-rama this year but that shouldn't be the only time we meet up.

I just got home form a week on the road. All over NY,VT,NH and Maine I was on my street weapon a reworked FZ1. We did Hurricane mountain not bad a little narrow in places.
We also did a 132 mile six gap loop that is near Stowe they are Brandon gap, Middlebury gap, Lincoln gap, Roxbury gap and Rochester gap. So is the 13-14 still on?

Sounds like a good trip Anders! I have always wanted to do the 6 gap tour and hope to do it before winter. lasts week I went to the gaspe peninsula, Quebec for 4 days and 1800 miles of pure riding pleasure on my Vstrom.

Not sure I can make the 13/14 as may be back in Santa Barbara but someone should be riding!

I just looked at a '74 750k in West Fairlee, VT. today.  I rode Ariel's Duc up there (which was a blast).  The guy wanted $750 for it.  It has 4k on the engine and the brake rotor looks like a mirror.  The original exhaust was pretty rough as well as the seat and rear fender which steered me away from it.  The motor sounded great once we got it started.  I believe that it is actual mileage on the bike as it seemed unmolested and had that patina that old bikes get.  Anyone interested?  I needs the typical tires, brakes, chain, side cover, etc. but there's a great engine.  No title.  I may offer a low ball to see if he takes it.  If you have my number, give me a call or drop me a line.  I told the guy that I wouldn't post his number on the interwebs.
