I am going to pass for this years at Willow but want to be one of the ones to take Godzilla (is there a 3rd Godzilla or is lefty coming along again? or perhaps G-1?) up to the Northern CA riders minimally to San Jose/Monterrey hopefully to San Francisco/Santa Rosa.

Some things just weren't meant to be. Forecast calls for rain but we decided to soldier on. Ken got all loaded up and ready to go but stopped for gas and discovered a screw in his tire. I decided to go solo but when I installed my new rectifier this evening I didn't realize that 2 of the cooling fins were positively grounded and burned out half my wiring harness. Oh, well. I'll figure out something. Either deal w/ the wiring harness issue or get one of the 750s going.

Probably not. Normally we go and fetch the little man. Unless someone from San Diego wants to step up and meet Scott (who I assume will be riding in from Arizona) or perhaps he wants to ride all the way to APE and then you can just do a switch. Do we have any San Diego riders?

I'm considering a few different options, given the lack of AZ riders so far. It's 470 miles to APE for me, but I would really like to go there. Shenanigans is willing to ride west, but I don't think he wants to ride that far, either. Heffay has suggested a hand off from Proto at Four Corners, and that sounds like a more pleasant ride.
The option I'm currently entertaining is to do the Four Corners ride, then carry GZ to APE in a Honda, rather than on one. Hey, he can ride inside the car on a K1 side-cover.

From APE, I'll follow the riders as a support vehicle as far as Santa Maria, where I will visit with family.

Coach Doc is in San Diego...has he weighed in yet? I would hate for Gz-3 to have to ride in a car (even if he is in a Honda on a K-1 side cover

It would be about 290 miles from San Diego to APE, via Joshua Tree. Riders coming from the LA area might be able to join Coach Doc in Victorville or Lucerne Valley. (Honest Sal, Big Bear won't be as cold in May as it was in late March.

missed last year, but my pilon and i would love to be apart of 2013

we are in san jose and can ride 200 or so miles (maybe more depending on schedule and timing) let us know what we can do to help, or just tag along

Sorry, Scotty, haven't checked in recently. Definitely I'm down for Willow Spring. Missed it last year due to the possible rain. Now I've got to read the rest of the posts since the last time I checked in.

Mooshie et al, I'd be happy to meet Scotty coming from the east. I may trailer the bike to a meetup point if a lot of slabbing on the way looks inevitable. Wish I had somebody else from San Diego to come with me. If Scotty's approach route doesn't make that plan feasible, I can either meet up in Victorville, Rosemond, or wherever. What is the current best estimate for the days involved?

Scotty, don't have my own. I rent one of the small 1 bike U-Haul MC traliers ($14.95/day). Much more cost effective than buying one, and pulls really easily.

Negative. The small 1 bike trailer is the only one they have, and that's about as much as my Escape can pull. What were you thinking related to the trailer?

Just weighing options. The trailer that ClimbingAZ rented the first year was a fat pig, even after we unloaded his bike in NM.

Scott, what route would you be taking across AZ and into CA? I'm not sure how hard or easy it would be for me to meet you unless you took a more southerly approach.Otherwise your suggestion for me to meet up with LA riders in Victorville or thereabouts and then ride together to APE would seem most doable. Dates?

The time frame we are looking at is somewhere from the beginning to the middle of May.

Depending on the days of the week involved, I may be able to meet you in Joshua Tree/ 29 Palms and ride with you to Rosamond to meet whatever group is there at Willow Springs.

If it works with the guys at APE and Willowsprings, meeting you early on a Saturday would be best. If I remember right last year you were planning to do the track on a Sunday, is that right? If so, then us getting there on Saturday should work. In a pinch I could move some things around and meet you on a Friday instead, but early Sat. would be best. Work for you?
