Canada vrs. The States tonight eh?

I hear they've closed the Vancouver Liquor Stores early.
This could be a bad idea if the Canadians lose, a bunch of pissed off
sober Canadians might be a bad thing. Drunk their pretty much harmless.  ;D ;D

American beating the Canadians in
Canada, that is bad.

So the US has a bye to the elimination round. Great game for the US. Hopefully Canada can regroup and we can play them again in the gold medal game.

I would have loved to see Canada win but I have to admit the US goalie, Miller was unstoppable, he stopped something like 46 or 48 shots. That is impressive on it's own. I also think the Canadians should have put Luongo between the pipes instead of Brodeur, he is a little more dynamic

US to take on the Swiss at 3p. US seems to be getting better every game. Canada and Russia should be a good one. Too bad the loser will not win a medal. The amount of big names from the NHL comprise a big list of who's who. Hopefully the Canadians have started to gel at the right time. Maybe Pronger can do the Pens a favor and check Ovie the way Ovie checked Jagr. That was a huge open ice hit. Good luck you Canucks.

one more thing. Yeah I maybe biased but I think that Marc-Andre Fleury should start against the Russians. Brodeur has shown that he on the downside of his career and when has Luongo won a big game? Fleury is the reigning Stanley Cup champion and has been to the last 2 finals. He shows up in big games and plays like a big game goalie. Plus, he sees more of Ovechkin and Semin than Luongo does. He also sees Gonchar and Malkin everyday in practice. Just my opinion.

Okay, States over the Swiss. You want to know what did it.
Midway in the third period "Dueling Banjos" was played. Scared the hell out
of the Swiss, scared them so bad they pulled their goalie (who was playing one
heck of a game) and more or less conceded the loss. (I don't blame them, who wants
to squeal like a pig after three periods of hockey?)  ;D ;D

Shacolaid, to be honest I would be fine with MAF starting...but I am comfortable with Luongo too! Too bad about Brodeur as he has done so much for Team Canada and hockey in general.

So far Can v Rus has been the best 20 minutes of hockey I have seen in my life and I have watched and played MANY MANY games!

If we played like that against the US it wouldn't even have been close!!!

OH MY, I guess somebody woke up the bear to the North.  Russia did not even show up. Luongo and everyone else played well.

My78K, I love the game and play as much as I can. I had my 2 boys on the ice today.
