Nope, ride what you have or can borrow. All bikes, all years, all makes and models are welcome to ride along. Last year we had a rule that you must be on a SOHC4 (350, 400, 500, 550, 650 or 750) to actually carry the beast. I'm not sure how hard & fast that rule is this year. But because of that rule, GZ 1.0 rode an unbroken string of SOHC4's for 20,000+ miles!!

It is hard to put words to how much I enjoyed last year's ride. I was fortunate enough to ride two segments, the Chicago portion of the MO/IL/IN/OH route and then completely around Lake Michigan with the Michigan crew (about 1,500 combined miles). Everyone I met was incredibly generous (we only had to pay to stay somewhere 1 of the 5 nights we were on the road), I made a slew of new friends and I got to see parts of my area of the country that I had been meaning to see, but just hadn't gotten to.

If you are on the fence about doing this ride, get off, get on your bike, and go. Even if you can only do a local section in the pouring rain at 45 degrees (like the Chicago section last year) it's STILL worth it.

Thanks, Scott... Thats what I'm hoping!

I'm actually considering trucking the bike up to CO and riding with some of my old friends up there too when GZ blazes that trail.  I won't ask to carry him again, unless its needed.

Hey Old School. I am keeping track of the progress and timing. I would like to, although it would be via GoldWing since I am currently SOHC4-less. I was thinking I would borrow my friend's good camera and be a ride photographer.

Rain or not i will be there. Something about last year has been bothering me. I was so wrapped up in that whack woman, I negelected your Birthday. I promise you that will not happen again. It really has bothered me since, and I have to put it right.

I will tell you this much my 650 was down with charging issues when you guys came through Utah last year and I have been kicking myself since. This year I am signed up and hopefully no mechanical issues!
