Jerry, the answer is yes, there's more in it for sure!  And it goes straight as an arrow, but everything is happening a little quicker,  haha! Past time for a shift light, I ain't got no time to look at a tach no more, if I'm looking at the tach , can't see the win light if opponent red lighted etc!  Launching with feet on rear pegs,  any motion after that clutch is out can/ will upset your forward motion!  Frank, thanks for reminding me to go back to them. I'll post some time slips and Eeman videoed the 1.5 60 ft pass. Wanting more, but feeling pretty good about this package. Mike Rieck,  you right,  that head works well! Thank you for all you do, and anyone else.  Got to see and talk with Jim F and Dave Fletcher yesterday.  It was hot, but oh so much fun! Bill

Glad to hear you're gonna drops 10 more lbs - that monster tach, since you can't use it. haha. That's a signature Calendar Girl item! I always found that attempting to watch the tach on a quick revver was distracting and difficult. If you know your bike, shifting by feel and sound can be second nature but perhaps a little dangerous. Shift light and rev limiter may be the way to go. Keep your eyes on the track, that #$%* is happening way quicker! Those 4 quick glances down may actually cost you a fraction of a second or create other issues.

Sorry I'm missing this! You'll have it down pat by November!! I should be in town for ~ 3 weeks.

 I liked To run full out,no sandbagging dial in near your best, then hard to breakout..dont even have to look/think what the other guy does. More fun to run as hard as you can than play games..imo..
 When you get real comfy with your setup, then you can think about playing the games..
 Work at consistency. Once you dial in..change nothing..

Still needs to win a ET. event to get my $500 HUMOR MONEY at MAN CUP $$$$$

Hey, I put forth quite a bit of effort just to get to these events, I'd at least like to see some results posted!  ;)  (results have been updated: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,160091.0.html )

I should be able to put a wrench to the bike before the next event. Rev limiter should be easy and quick to install, bushings have arrived to lower the front 1-1/2", lower handle bars, a bigger Band-Aid for the side of the fuel tank, and if I find time I'll get the longer swingarm in place. Still need to find time to practice too!  :P

If I could prep race bikes full time and still pay the bills I'd have it made!  8)

What ignition are you running Wilbur? My Dyna 2000 ($) has a built in limiter. And as Pops says as I can attest, float a valve float a loan. Power shift at your risk! Been there done that. Daytona 1976.

What ignition are you running Wilbur?

I only have a Dyna III and a Dyna S to choose from. I have the rev limiter, just need an opportunity to install it.

Same holds true for the:
>Shift light
>Shorter handle bars
>Lowering bushings in the forks
>Longer swingarm
>"Poor boy" ignition cutout for full throttle shifts
>Larger rear sprocket
>Patches on my shirt and jacket

I'd put priority to the lower handle bars, the shift light and the  gearing for my top 3 choices.  The higher ratio gearing will make the bike more aggressive out the hole so having the lower bars will help move your body further forward and downward to keep weight over the front tire. This will help calm down the potential for wheelies. The shift light will save you from over revving the engine and floating a valve---- unless there's a misshift. I'd lower the front end next, then add the longer arm followed by an air shifter. The rev limiter would be last on my list.

Actually, the rev limiter is number one on the list as insurance against the "missed shift", i.e. false neutral.  ;)

Scottly,  yes Cobra Girl, fixed the gasket issues and put it back together with a different but very similar cylinder head that Mike Rieck had gone through for me. Hadn't been able to get back to the dyno yet, Bill 10.7 so far and backed off so as to not breakout,  broke out worse anyway.122.14mph best so far.
