Scotty,  Haven't heard from Coke in a while. He is a great rider to run with. We did the first two rallys together in 2011 and 2012.

Thanks ladies and gents for the summon.  Went into post office to renew my passport, just for this occasion!

Well, made a plan with the family to go overseas in July for about 2-3 weeks, using up vacation time from work.  If plan or anything changes, will definitely join in!

In the mean time, I'm trying to recruit Minimo, he's down in Glendale/Burbank area.

He rode down for one of the events at Valdosta, he is a long haul rider. His profile indicates last active here over two years ago. I hope he is doing well.

I met Coke on the 2013 Relay, when he rode to 4 Corners on his Harley on an Iron Butt ride. Coke is the guy on the left, then me, Proto, Heffay, and Hef's friend.

If I go it will most likely be on my CBX.  I seem to barely have time and money to keep one bike in top form and right now the CBX is in way better shape for a 3000+ mile trip.

Just a quick update, based on comments at this thread and the one over at the SOHC4 board I get a current count of 11 yes/probably and another 8 maybes.

It's time to start the next phase of planning: the camping location. I need to know how many people would be tenting it and how many prefer an actual bed. If you don't want to camp, what is acceptable? Cabin without a bathroom? Cabin with a bathroom? Hotel room only?

Most of the camping facilities that I have looked at in the Durango area all offer cabins of various sizes. Would anyone double or triple up in a larger cabin?

If the 3 of us go, my son would probably insist on tent camping. We will have tents etc. with us.

Yes  It still has most of your miles on it.    I was kind of thinking if weather is iffy taking the van with bikes in tow.  makes camping easier in the van.  But if we get enough riders to go????

It's the bugs. It's rare to camp somewhere that doesn't have a lot of skeeters or flies or other birds. I sleep better when I'm not being eaten alive.

Well seems I may be the only female rider going (without a husband in tow that is--unless I count Fun Jimmy :o ) so I would prefer either a hotel close by (I like to be spoiled after a long ride) but I would like one close by so I can hang out with you all too.  Where is the camping site (I am not and never will camp) I just want to know so I can search out hotels...UNLESS there is a single cabin (I don't really care about it having a bathroom right in the cabin though that could be nice).

I share the same sentiments as Mooshie - want to hang but at the end of it a bed indoors. A cabin w/a bathroom would be great unless there's a Hojo's nearby cheaper. We do a lot of tent camping but riding two up I don't think I'll have the space to haul the gear.

I am trying to decide what camp ground makes sense, but like I said, all the ones I am seriously considering have cabins available in various sizes that would come with at least one bed. My goal would be to have everyone on site so that they can relax with the adult beverage of choice (or this being Colorado, smoke of choice) without needing to be concerned about driving/riding to a hotel off site.
