good call, when I did mine w/ engine paint it lasted all of a few days

that caliper shizzle is tough as nails, and takes their wheel clear coat nicely if ya want a little tougher and subdued sparkly look.

I used hi-temp gold duplicolor on my caliper... forgot to bake it, and the DOT3 ate right through when I bled the brakes.
throw that #$%* in the toaster oven on 250 for about 20 minutes or till you don't smell the paint anymore.

The can should tell you if the paint should be baked. Don't remember off the top of my head if the Duplicolor caliper paint needs it, but the high-heat paint certainly does.

Suggestion: When I bake parts in a toaster oven I put a little aluminum foil "tent" over them to keep them from getting overheated by direct infrared transmission from the heating elements. This causes the uppermost parts to char while the sides and lower portions are not sufficiently heated. This probably isn't a problem if your toaster oven is big enough. Leave plenty of space for air circulation of you do this.

I just stripped mine and polished it. Every now and then I hit it with Eagle One Mag & Aluminum polish for 20 seconds, and it looks great.

Bike is no longer out in the elements, however.

I just used Duplicolor on my caliper and I'm pretty sure you don't have to bake it. All the can said was to let dry 7 days for paint to cure.

I wanted to leave it bare ed, it looked cool. i just thought i would rust up and I couldn't get the last few chunks out.
The vinyl wheel is my new bestest friend.
I'd like a few of you guys to give me your 2 cents on washing the motor. How should i prep for it to avoid damaging anything while still getting it the cleanest I can in one piece?

the little tent is a good idea. i have a toaster oven outside for just this, it has a foil liner now. after burning a few...

Gettin' it,

I wanted to say it earlier but you said you were loading pics, if you want to remove a logo that has the double faced tape or foam tape just use dental floss with a gentle sawing motion. It will go right behind the logo and not damage paint or anything else.

Actually, I need to post a poll if everyone will participate. I'm going to dig up the colors that it's down to, and you guys are gonna vote. I simply cannot decide.

I can't decide between 3 colors.
The green or the red would be flat finish
the grey would be a low gloss with red offset stripe.
I really really wanted green, but JBmorse kinda beat me to it.
Other than that, I drive a yellow car, do I really need an annoying color on my bike too?

Pink... or Lavender. Or pink and lavender, with puce accents.

Then there is something to be said for mauve, too.

You know, something that says "I gotta be me".

But, if you have to have green, then I suppose Lime could also work.

No pinks. My mustang is "Iris"
which is pretty much fuschia. It's ridiculous. I guess, that means I HAVE to paint my bike a ridiculous color. cause both of my others are eye catchers too.
