I'm working on getting another day off from work to make this happen. I think I can make that work, then I wont have to kill myself getting to Missoula- heck, Spokane is only another 100 miles or so though.

What are you and Flybox planning?

Actually it is 200 miles from Missoula to Spokane.

Ah, well, what's 200 miles after 1100?

We dont have anything planned, yet.  Just waiting to hear what you guys want to do and when.
Unfortunately, Accolay, I cannot get it to Spokane/Missoula during the time you have off. Locally I will make it happen if other riders can jump in and take the next leg....

Ah, well, what's 200 miles after 1100?

Actually, it is closer to 1200 miles Minneapolis-Missoula taking the most direct, least fun route. ;)  Too bad this wasn't happening last week.  I could have met you in Billings or somewhere.

Well then, what's another 200 after 1200? :)

So....the farther GZ is to the west coast, the more impossible it will be for me to get out there...because of my time constraints. It's still technically possible for me to do it, but to get out there and back to Seattle It's a 50 hour round trip, and on that's on the interstate, as Ofreen has pointed out. That's ten hours per day of riding alone...

Is there anyone who can get GZ out to Eastern WA or Western MT?

I'm ready to invoke the Team Brown clause. Where do we need to ship the baton?

I may have put in the most miles so far (over 2100) but I too agree, ship him on.  I am sorry that I can't take the time to move him along but family vaca used up a number of vaca days and thing are pretty busy at work.  if he gets stuck back over here in the eastern side of the US later in the relay I may be able to take time off and move him back along since vaca days will start over and work will be less stressful after the summer teacher workshop sessions are over.

Bob,
You've done well, and set the bar quite high I might add!  8) Accolay is prepared to do some serious miles as well, so by shipping the baton then Accolay can focus on kicking off the Team Northern leg in a big way!  ;)

Just waiting to hear back from Accolay...  ???

If that works with Accolay's schedule then it works for me.  8)

Accolay,
It's your call. You can make the "Double Iron Ass" run to meet up with tlbranth, or we can ship the baton to you. I'm fine with either solution, it was never the intent to rely too heavily on any individual, it's supposed to be fun!  ;)

I'm meeting up with Duanob tomorrow over lunch for a hand off.  He's taking lefty to BackfireMoto in the Ballard area of Seattle tomorrow night.  This is the once-a-month vintage/rat/cafe bike gig here.  Good Photo opp, too.
Terry and Accolay should get DIA awards!  You guys work out the next step....Duanob will be in charge of executing the Brown clause, or, getting it back to Terry.  I'll help locally if necessary.

Oooooor......I could deliver to Accolay in Missoula next week

Hey Accolay.... did you read this?
Does this work for you?
Very good chance I could ride out to Missoula with you.
My days of availability are: Could leave the Morning of 7-27, then need to be back in Omaha by Tues night 8-31.
That's 5 days of riding.
Will need to work 2 days (8-1 and 8-2), then pack back up for the trip to Rockerbox.

Its an option.  (or has GZ already taken the 'brown' route?)

***If GZ hasnt shipped yet, is it possible to meet in Billings?
Come on!  We're burning daylight!

If you guys end up riding toward Missoula on 7/27 you can count on me riding with part of the way that weekend.

Grasscutter - I can't do Billings. Wife, butt, bad knees etc. won't allow it.
Accolay - Let's set this up pretty quickly. I need to schedule a lot of stuff.
If we go, I'll be taking the North Cascades route, Colville, Sandpoint etc. so two-up, it'll take me 2 days to Missoula.

Terry-
I just need to see if I can find another person to work for me on Sunday. If I can do that, then I would be in Missoula on Monday, July 23rd evening. If I can't, then Missoula on Tuesday evening, July 24th.

What is your schedule like? Do either of those days work for you? I will know if I can find someone by tomorrow.

Sorry Grasscutter and Wes....if I do this, I would need to during this next week, leaving either Sunday or Monday. I have to work all weekend 27th, 28th and 29th. But if you want I can ride south towards Nebraska for a handoff...

Accolay - I'll wait for your post. So I'll leave here Sunday or Monday. We can exchange phone #s and other particulars via PM. That's a lot of miles for 2 days. Are you sure you can do it?

Duanob, Flybox1 - can one of you get Lefty back to me?

As long as my bike holds up, I can do it. I may take the interstate boring route there, and then a nicer way back.
