removed the motor yesterday with my dad's help. Getting ready to do a quick and dirty top-end rebuild on it. Pulling the head and jugs today. Then I'll see if it needs a re-bore, in which case, cycle-x 1st over piston kit and gaskets.

For the 550 plugged the tender in, finally fitted the proper 650 tach gear and housing, bled the front brakes Again after getting rid of the speedbleeder valve (which not only didn't perform as advertise but leaked fluid as well, wrong size, perhaps?). Will be ready for the final tune shortly...

Went for a quick ride after class and stopped at a gas station for a snack, when I came out a guy on a '82 900F was checking out my baby. Turns out he works for Time/Warner doing exactly what I'm going to school for, I love riding. Got a quick lesson on LINUX programming and answered a few question I had, I do need an intership this summer, maybe he can help? Bikes...benifits far beyond what you might expect!

I'm at work, sitting here daydreaming about the work I'm doing on my new bike after work, and my 200 mile ride tomorrow...............  8)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I sat at work and tried to justify spending the $50/mo it takes to park at work, but it's just never going to be worth it. :P  The alternative is going way out of my way to do an extra loop, tell the bored lady at the ticket window my plate number, pay, and pray I don't get ticketed... :P

carpooling to work is still so much better.  *sigh* Maybe this weekend I'll get some riding in. :(

What am I doing today?  Hatching plans to turn tricks in bathrooms or otherwise find money to pay for the $170 in fines I incurred by parking my bike on Chicago streets for an hour or so yesterday.  $50 just for not paying parking to the aptly named LAZ Parking Inc. and $120 because I neglected to pay the city $45 for a city sticker I would neither use nor need.

Its a bit of a tossup as far as who deserves my money less, the city or LAZ Parking Inc..  On the one hand, the city sold off the parking meters for a song to the politically connected LAZ Parking Inc., thereby depriving the city of much needed revenue over the next 90 years.  So that kind of makes LAZ Parking a bunch of motherfvckers.  But on the other hand, the city itself is a total motherfvcker for having done so in the first place.  This city is run by gypsies, tramps and thieves.

I feel somewhat better now, thanks.  Back to financial planning.

getting ready to go and hit all the polished and chrome surfaces with wenol, paint the fairing and go for a nice long, stress relieving ride way out in the country.

i put a couple of coats of good carnauba wax on the tank, side covers and chrome and polished parts, sprayed some chain lube on and went for a short ride.

Today I finished up the front end upgrades.  Put the All Balls taper kit in yesterday, along with some new fork seals (although I not to certian about them).  Today I drilled the front rotor for my bike and adjusted the clutch (I think I got it right this time), and tomorrow I'm gonna ride to work.

tomorrow the head gets re-torqued and the 77 cb750f cam goes in along with some better springs. lets hear it for the Ilbikes/Gordon frame kit! it's a 2 hour job instead of a 3 day ordeal to torque head bolts now. i'm going to start tearing down the pd carbs i have too and see how bad they are inside, it's time for accelerator pump carbs

Put a new rear tire on, along with front and rear sprockets and chain to match. Finish painting the upper and lower farings yesterday, so I pulled them out of the paint booth and got them on today as well. It was a really good day today 8)

I put a new screen in the oil pump and installed the oil pan and exhaust. Set the timing and then took it for a ride. It looks like the oil leaks are gone thanks to the new gaskets and "O" rings. Next project is to fix the low charging problem.

Yesterday, I finally put my engine cases together.  Prepared the pistons, re-ringed & loaded them into the jug ready for rod/pin installation.

Man I'm getting excited, it's getting close.

On a side note: SS polished hex head engine bolts dress these things up really well, as well as some light wire wheel brushing to put a nice dull sheen on the aluminum.

I can't wait to hand off my frame to the powder coaters and start putting it all together!
