Wow what a day.  I finally got fed up with the rust in my fuel tank messing up the works so I sent to a local radiator shop to be boiled out.  Well it looks 110% better then when I took it in, but the solvent didn't touch what looks like an old liner of some sort. :-[  But it also took the paint off the outside (I already knew that was gonna happen), and showed me that that tank wasn't as straight as I thought.  So I went to the shop I work at today and glass beaded the tank, and then filled and sanded all the dents, and got it in primer.  So now hopefully tomorrow I can get the carbs put back on (cleaned them for the fifth time), and also get the new chain on as well, then I'll address the packing question.  Gonna be a busy week.
get busy man.....  ;)  That bobber's siittin over there justa grinnin ;D

Don't make me bring a 12 pack up there.

Hey......you want to meet Sat. am for the ride down to St. Mountain?

Lemme know.

(where's Chris)??

No worries Bill I'll be ready for Saturday.  I'm still not sure about Chris, business is booming at the moment so I'm not sure he'll be willing to leave.  I'm game for meeting up Saturday morning, how about your place?

Couldn't find much on this place but a may be a good spot to meet up for lunch, Its called Dairy Lane, looks neat!

http://foodieroadguide.blogspot.com/2010/07/dairy-lane-highway-15-sandersville-ga.html

Oh btw, Be carefull around Sandersville it looks like a speed trap. Their city website has a link to pay speeding tickets online!

Here's the route to Sandersville if we stop at the Dairy Lane for lunch, we may be in mood for BBQ though. My uncle has a BBQ pit there also, I'll have to find out what his address is to see if it's a possible stop. Sandersville is small so there's not a lot to choose from. I'm one of the guys who goes all day without eating except for an apple or two until dinner, I'm content with stopping for gas and keep on rolling to Savannah, but we have all day so I'm in no hurry to end our fun. Yikes, I'd forgotten that weekend is St. Paddy's Day. I hear it's a mad house there so we'll  have to be careful when we get there and avoid putting our bikes around large crowds. I don't want to have to hurt some drunk for sitting on my bike and screwing her up!

Bill, you're right. If she's cute enough, she'll be more than welcome to sit on my bikes as long as she's willing to! Let's see how many pretty women we can get to pose with our bikes before their drunk boyfriends chase us out of town. I'll have my cameras along to document our ride.

Breakfast update for the kick-off leg!

The Denny's address in my original post has MOVED! (glad I called):

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=81260.msg930704#msg930704

I have updated my original post to reflect Denny's NEW LOCATION at 1446 Int'L Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach - (386) 258-5460
From I-95 you will take Highway 92 (Speedway Blvd) EAST just past the speedway and Denny's will be on the left just past the speedway. Sorry for any confusion, hopefuly everyone can find their way! Be there or you will wish you had!

We're almost there!

Hey guys, it's almost our big day and I'm excited. My bike is road ready but I think my chain is too slack, so who wants to teach me how to tighten it Saturday morning? I may not have time to ride out to my mechanics in Suwanee this week. I  know it's not that hard, but I don't want to screw it up. I'll let you all know if I man up before then and just do the damn thing myself, maybe a beer is all I'll need to fix it myself. Gotta learn eventully. Thanks for all of your contact info. I'll post them all here first before I print it out. 3 days, 3 days!

Be leary of posting personal contact info on a public forum. That's a big invite to spammers, telemarketers, etc. Transmit personal contact info via PM or e-mail if you would, please. Thanks!

Blue,
Centerstand the bike. Loosen rear axle by pulling cotter pin and loosen slightly. Get your 10mm open end wrench lossen lock nuts on chain adjusters turn clockwise 1/2 turns each side til properly tight. probably a full turn will be enough. Retighten everything.

Well I finally got the fuel tank put back on today, yay everthing seems good.  Got a small lean pop going on (not sure what cylinder), but then again I haven't run it in a few cold days, and the carbs were dry from a recent cleaning.  Still gotta do a quick oil change, and get the new chain put on, yikes I'm running short on time :o.  Looks like a late night Thursday, no biggie though I'm a night owl anyway.  Also Bill I talked to Chris today, and he said he won't be riding with us, he has been at the shop at 4:30AM every day this week and is just dog tired.  So I'll still meet at your place around 9.

Hey, guys, do you have your team hand offs figured out. Since you're on the front end, I'm guessing yes, but I'm having a hard time finding the info here. I'm putting together my first blog post for Motorcycle Classics and the deadline is tomorrow so really need the info. Can you help, PLEASE!! I'll also need some input from you guys and photos of your journey north. PM me.

Be leary of posting personal contact info on a public forum. That's a big invite to spammers, telemarketers, etc. Transmit personal contact info via PM or e-mail if you would, please. Thanks!

What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.
