How did you meet your wife and how long have you been married?
« on: October 22, 2011, 01:47:59 AM »
Years ago I did a lot of roller speed skating and in 1979 I met my wife Brenda one night at the local rink. At the time I still had my 1976 CB550 and I took her riding several times on it. Maybe that's why she is so understanding of the two 750's  and 1 Harley I have in the garage now. We dated for 6 months got engaged and 6 months later got married on April 19,1980. Two kids and 31 years later she is still just as beautiful as she was at 19 when she came up to me and ask me if I would skate with her.

The first time i saw my wife was at a bar, she was over in Australia from New Zealand on holidays. The next day i went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner and there she was working behind the front desk, we chatted and i asked here out, that was 29 years ago today. While we never married, we have 2 kids and have never been apart.... And yes, she is still the beautiful girl i met all those years ago.... :D

We knew of each other in high school - she dated a guy I knew.  4 or 5 years later, she started coming to the church I attended, in the college-age class.  Dated a year, got engaged, got married 6 months later.  3 kids and 22 years!  :)

We met at a party one summer when I was home from college.  She was 2 years behind me in high school, but our school was so large that we had never met there.  We were married 42 years ago as of this past September.

Met my wife the "old fashion" way - at a bar!  Actually met her twice that same night from two mutual female friends. Walked her to her car when the bar closed but she would only tell me her name, no ph number, she said call the directory. So I did when I got home that night and they said there was no listing, I thought what a #$%*! When I woke up, could not stop thinking about her and tried again, and got the number! Called her and invited her to a friend's beach party and we had a great time, I never dated another since then, 1998.
We got married two years later at the lake where we met and went on a 19 day honeymoon in Europe!

She was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met her. I picked her out, I shook her up, and turned her around, turned her into someone new... :P

25 years ago last week i was going to a party seen this cute blonde standing in the front doorway wearing levi 501s wearing a white shirt with blue pinstripes. told my buddy check out the blonde i'm going to get her to go out with me. come to find out she hated my guts like my buddy, but she was to skinny for my buddy told her she needed to gain about 100 pounds. kept calling her and bothering her she finally gave up and went out with me allthough  we have never been married we have a very smart and handsome 22 yr old son. and i wouldn't trade the last 25 years for anything it's been good and bad.

Didn't have enough credits to graduate with my high school class.  We met in a math class in Sept 67.  She sat close enough to get acquainted.  We graduated in Jan 68.  We were both seeing other people.  My then girlfriend wanted to get married the next year, I didn't ,so we broke up in July 69.  About a week later my future wife walked by on her way to the store.  I went out to talk to her and the rest as they say is history.  We got married in Aug 72.  After 39 years this was the best decision I have ever made.  Sometimes being a bad student can pay off.

I met my wife at a bar, she was visiting town (Miami, FL) and a friend of mine when I was introduced to her.  We've been married 36 years, it will be 37 in a couple of weeks.

After leaving her majesty's service couldn't find a job went to California got a job then found out that carpenters, electricians, plumbers, made more coin than Areo Engine mechanics with jet, multi row radials V 12's, etc said oh piss on that, about the same a couple of my drunken ex airforce buddies phoned me and told me that I could get into university even after getting thrown out of High School so back to the land of Ice and snow wrote the entrance exam and passed, got involved with Student theatre and low and behold, Blonde girl showed up to work on sets, she saw me and said that's that one, and we've been married 44  years, had a couple kid's good times, #$%*ty times, but she still likes Jazz, Blues, puts up with bikes and still likes me, keeps me relatively on the Straight and arrow ( No Bill I know he's a politician but hurling that horse puckie at him will get you into trouble) .

She picked me up at a country western bar. She asked me if I could dance and I called her an F'n B and walked off. There is more to that story...hehe.

If she had asked me to dance and I said yes we probably would have never seen each other again.

She worked at a gas station and put 7, can you imagine? 7 dollars worth of gas in my 69 firebird. A week or so later she was in her 65 malibu stopped at a train and I was parked in a closed  tire store lot. I walked to her car and... we've been married since 73.

Had a Suzi T350 in those days, I was 16/17 so was she and we fell in love, marriage was well some good some not so good but two great kids now 34 and 30, I was way too young back then, divorced after 26 years together when she ran off with my Karate instructor!
Met my mate Jaffa 10 years ago, internet dating would you believe, I'd dated women all over NZ and was kinda sick of all the travel so decided to date locally instead, we were like soul mates from day one, her story like mine of betrayal in the marraige.
She's honest (so bludy painfully honest) reliable and likes bikes, has more tools than me and wants more. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

over 35 years ago now, her brother lifted weights, I was home from college for the summer and went over to work out with her brother. We had no weight lifting gyms in the home town then. I had the SL350 and we went on a date. Dated all summer and she graduated to the 750 with me that summer. We dated on it. I went back to school in the fall, rode back home the second weekend and asked her to marry me. Quit school and we married after 7 months of dating. Still going strong and my wife's back on the bikes with me now 2 years. Life's good except when I screw up. ;)

Met her sometime in the early 90's - she was one of my college team mate's sister.    Kept up with some of my old teammates over the years (her brother is still like a brother to me)     Saw her at a bar in 2000 and we've been together ever since.    We got married in 2005.     Best thing that ever happened to me.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.
