Is this you!
« on: June 22, 2012, 01:39:30 PM »
Shamelessly stolen from another forum.

You have multiple bikes in the garage and sometimes have trouble deciding which one to ride to work.

Given the choice between going to a cookout or staying home to work on a bike, you'd rather work on the bike.

If you work out in the shop too late into the evening, you're too wound up to go to sleep right away.

After finally coming in for the night, you're still thinking about the repair you were working on, and find it necessary to go out into the shop one more time to check something again. In your pajamas.

You're rather spend money on a bigger garage/shop than renovate the kitchen.

The bikes in your garage are your "babies" and they make you proud.

When a package containing motorcycle parts is waiting for you on your doorstep when you get home from work, you feel like a 6 year old on Christmas morning.

Your idea of the "ideal" shop would include a bathroom and bed.

The car in the driveway (no room in the garage for it since it's full of bikes) is your alternate transportation.

You can't understand why people say, "You can only ride one bike at a time. Why do you need so many?"

You find it very easy to spend money on parts, but difficult to buy new shirts and pants.

You find that rainy days aren't so bad - if you can't ride, you can wrench!

If you find that more than three of the above describe how your mind works, then we need to start a support group and get help. Oh wait - that's what this forum is for!

You couldn't be suggesting that any of these traits could be considered anything but normal right? And only 3 of the above discriptions, only three? Then it's "Take this forum once a day with a glass of water."
What if it's all those symptoms? What then?
"Pick up a parts bike and post us in the morning."? Funny,I'm feeling better already.

That is me but I need to extend one of them.  I will get up in the morning, make coffee, go into the garage, start looking, start tinkering and at the end of the day realize I am still in my pajama's and the cup of coffee I made is sitting half full on top of the fridge.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

The bathroom in the garage thing is true.!
One day my wife was in the garage and she pointed in disgust at a bottle of mysterious yellow liquid. I just stated in a logical tone of voice that its better than me coming into the house with greasy hands.

You guys think you have it bad, mine includes cars and guitars. i've stifled the guitar urge and the dragster keeps the other cars in their place but the bikes keep me thinking about them.

I'd say guilty but actually I feel no guilt, wrench, ride, repeat has become my passion and I was always told to follow my passion  ;D!  Might need to add two more though;
1.  The way my bike is running or project is going has a direct influence on my     mood/piece of mind.
2.  I treat this forum like an online course in motorcycle repair and always have      homework to do.

No need for counseling like 72 yellow said this is my therapy.

How about sitting in a folding chair in your garage with a beer and just staring at your bike(s) for an hour while your wifey watches her favorite show on T.V. ??..... then you 'notice something' you haden't seen before and start wrenching until suddenly it's 1 a.m. and it's dead quiet in the house when you finally sneak in, ::) ::) LOL
