Just some thoughts..........Planning..........maybe............or JUST DO IT..........

If the relay needs to move GZ across the Great Plains and the Rockies...............I am leaving home on August 20th and heading to the Bonneville Salt Flats to arrive on Saturday, the 23rd.  GZ could ride on my 750 (in the trailer) the entire distance...............or on someone else's bike for a ways along the route...........Hwy 151 to I-80.

I can arrange to meet with a fellow relay biker a few days before the 20th (6-weeks from now) anywhere from Milwaukee to Chicago. Jerry will be meeting me at the Salt Flats..........could get photos of GZ taking a FAST ride ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Any NW riders are welcome to meet-up for a hand-off at the Salt Flats - just a little south of Idaho.

Let's see how things progress in the next few weeks and let me know if this will work.

Dennis, sounds like a good plan to me! You guys in the east have until 8-20 to get the pimp to Dennis: can you do it?

Maybe even PZ could ride on MY 750 this year!  ;)

Gotta get back at it and see why it/the ignition died 1 block from home.  Seem to have full electricals otherwise though.

Jerry, are you thinking of meeting up with Dennis in CO, taking PZ for a while, then back-tracking on the bike, and then catching up in the 'vette?

I'm planning on driving the Vette to the Salt again. Just depends on which Vette  ;D ;) Taking a look at a barn find Friday am. 73 black on black. L82 with Turbo 400. Full power and air. Apparently needs some work but it was parked with 25 miles on the rebuilt engine.  ;) Don't ALL older Vettes need brakes?!! plus a front fascia. C H E A P!!  8) The guy that turned me on to it grabbed the '73 4 speed but thats OK considering the price  ;D More details after I see it.

What I'm NOT planning on doing is riding the bike. Every time I make that plan something happens like the last time.  :o ;) Let's just say I'll just keep my fingers crossed. I did manage to get about 3/4 mile out of it before the ignition or whatever crapped this time. Hey, at least the oil pressure popped MUCH quicker this time LOL. Gotta get back to it.

Get these 2 projects taken care of then I gotta build another bike on those Webers!

I'm sort of tied down to my general vicinity (10 month old baby, cleanup after Hurricane/TS Arthur)... so unless someone can meet up with me in southern NB if I were to meetup in Calais, I think it would be best if PZ stayed State-side. :)

I haven't been on in a while, how the heck did he get to Maine already, LOL? I just got back from a 2 week bike trip out to the Rockies, I have a minor issue with front brakes sticking on my Cb750,  but I'm game to go a few hundred miles or so toward Maine to get him, if there's anyone in between to help. SOHC members in this end of the state have always been pretty slim pickings, for some reason, as far as I know I'm the only (semi) active member near me. Odd because I see them on the road around here often.

I have a friend in Binghamton I haven't seen this summer, I'd go that far, anyway. Jerry, I forgot you were in Colorado Springs, I spent a night there.

I don't think there has been a more reliable group over the 3 prior relays than the Michigan team. Flexible about timing and always a good turnout.

Ditto referencing Michigan participation in the past rally's. It seems that we always seem to get put on the back burner. We have riders ready to move Godzilla thru the Midwest which includes our good neighbors in Canada. Tripps I have been off for a while too because I could not figure how the movement of GZ was going. Well it looks like GZ is somewhere near us. Keep me posted on his where bouts. The posse here in Michigan will be ready to move the lizard to Wisconsin via Ohio, Indiana,Illinois and Canada.

So GZ jumps VA, PA, NY to be stuck in Maine for 3 weeks?  Brilliant!

Thank you ever so much for your support.  ::)

You're words of encouragement are an inspiration to us all.   :(

There is nothing I can do now.  However when GZ was near my area and I was ready to ride and carry him - just like I did for many, many miles last year and the year before -  he was shoved in a truck and shipped north to wait.
